We are delighted to welcome Lalu, the second Wild Frontiers Foundation sponsored hospitality trainee to join the life skills programme at the HOPE cafe in Kolkata.
When Lalu was very young his family moved from Bihar and lived on the Kolkata pavements. It was a harsh existence and sadly after Lalu’s mother passed away it proved difficult for his father to manage 7 children. Lalu went to school, but found the environment challenging.
Since starting his traineeship he has been going from strength to strength. In the future Lalu would like to save enough money to start his own small food business.
The Wild Frontiers Foundation is working with The Hope Foundation UK to offer young people like Lalu hospitality traineeships at the Hope Kolkata Foundation – Café and Shop.
With every £1250 we raise another young person will be given the opportunity to gain invaluable skills in cooking, customer service and restaurant management to develop a career in hospitality. Read more.
